Feedback on the first draft synthesis

  • Need to include more examples or case studies that make it seem more practical
    • Maybe one case study would be about the group in Seattle that has continued to self-organize and meet after the first Leadership and Race meeting
  • Since we start out framing the piece for two audiences, we need to address them both and separate recommendations based on both audiences (leadership development folks, network development folks and funders who invest in either or both of these)
  • Need to build out resources section (for implementing some of the recommendations).
    • Network weaving handbook by June Holley
    • Convening (open space technology, etc.)
    • National Council on Dialogue and Collaboration
  • We should select the top picks for people who are new to this

Next Steps:

  • By February 1st 2011:
    • Writing partners will edit the synthesis using the wiki
    • Insert notes where you think there may be relevant case studies and briefly describe the example
    • Improve “why this matters” section
    • Add resources for the directory and/or into the body of the report where you think they will be helpful
    • Add links
  • February 1 – February 8:
    • We will discuss recommended case studies and select 3-5 and solicit feedback virtually about which ones to include and look for volunteers to write them out
  • Feb 21st – 28th
    • Post final draft for review and sign off by writers.
  • March 1st, 2001
    • Report will go to copy editor and then to the designer.
    • Webinar with writers to discuss next steps (co-branding, launch activities, etc.)
  • June 2011
    • Target launch for the publication by mid-2011
